Dina
Shortly after my family moved to new house in Turnov
in 1993 we decided to obtain a doggy. I do not know how but the
breed selection came to a gold cockerspaniel. I do not remember
thus much, I was only 10 years old. I just know we have found an
advertisement and soon we arrived to Nový Bydžov for our first dog
- Dina (without pedigree).
She was born on 5.2.1994. Initially we took interest to buy a male,
but a female appealed us at first sight more so we immediately decided
to take her home with us. All the way home I held her in my arms
so that she could take a sniff at me deeply. I remember our puppy
was sleeping for most part of the day at the beginning, or puddled
wherever she wanted but soon, she grew into a lovely lady.
Her
dog-puberty proceeded by default, I can think of our continually
slobbered and chewed up shoes. Once she chewed up even my father´s
wallet ( fortunately they changed all damaged paper money for new
ones in the bank). Among ther favourite activity belonged continuous
shoestrings breaking to all ( no visitors excepting ) as well as
hypnotizing any food followed by heart-breaking begging ( this depravity
depends ). It is necessary to take a mention that Dina is a hyper-passionate
swimmer and that is the reason why Dina is wet on the most pictures
shown on this site. If we take a walk to a river we often must pull
her out of water because she would probably never gone out on her
ownsome. We have already charged not to set her free if we go to
pond becuase it dosed us ussufficiently. Once upon a time while
Dina was dog-padling as usual, suddently she caught a sight of duck-gaggle
situated on the oppsite waterside. She took decision to swim across
with the view to hunt down any poor duck. She disregarded not only
our but also frontager´s call, who unfortunately deeply feel for
ducks. Even if our great hunter swam across in a record time the
ducks flew away. So we were without catch and in addition we got
the scolding. Nowadays Dina is wiser and obeys orders even if she
is swimming! :-)
Our Dina died in the morning on 17th of August 2007 at the age of 13,5 years. We all are missing her...
